Louisiana National Guard, as directed by Governor John Bel Edwards, has activated over 565 soldiers and airmen to assist with the COVID-19 response
In response to reports that “the food supply chain is breaking” in America, President Donald Trump signed an executive order providing the authority to use the Defense Production Act to ensure the continued supply of beef, pork, and poultry to the American people.

Under the order, the Department of Agriculture is directed to ensure America’s meat and poultry processors continue operations uninterrupted to the maximum extent possible.

“Unfortunately, a number of America’s large meat processors and their workers have been affected by outbreaks of coronavirus (COVID-19),” the White House said in a prepared statement.
“In addition, recent actions in some states have led to the complete closure of large processing facilities. This action will further ensure that vitally important food processors are able to continue to operate safely and meet the consumer needs of the American people.”

Trump’s order followed a full-page advertisement in Sunday’s New York Times and other newspapers in which Tyson Foods Board Chairman John Tyson warned that, “The food supply chain is breaking.”

“In small communities around the country where we employ over 100,000 hard-working men and women, we’re being forced to shutter our doors,” Tyson wrote in a letter titled, “Feeding the Nation and Keeping Our Team Members Healthy.”
“This means one thing – the food supply chain is vulnerable. As pork, beef and chicken plants are being forced to close, even for short periods of time, millions of pounds of meat will disappear from the supply chain. As a result, there will be limited supply of our products available in grocery stores until we are able to reopen our facilities that are currently closed.”

Concerns over the nation’s food supply system come as over 26 million Americans have lost their jobs due to coronavirus lockdowns, creating unprecedented demand at food banks throughout the nation. In many cities now, people in their vehicles start lining up early in the morning, sometimes in lines of cars stretching on for miles, to obtain food from churches, charities and government agencies.

Also, young people dressed like professionals, are beginning to appear at street corners in major cities, holding signs asking people in passing cars for donations to feed their families.

At the same time, farmers across the nation are dumping millions of gallons of milk, getting rid of millions of pounds of vegetables, and euthanizing farm animals at unprecedented rates because the animals can’t be sold, Reuters reports.

“Unlike other parts of the globe, we actually have plenty of food right now, but we can’t get much of that food to the people because so many food processing facilities have been shut down due to fear of COVID-19,” Michael Snyder, founder of The Economic Collapse Blog, wrote.

“What we are witnessing is nothing short of a tragedy.  Even though there are so many needy families all across America at this time, so many farmers are being forced to waste what they have produced because food distribution pipelines have been brought to a standstill.”

Meanwhile, Geoffrey Grider wrote in an article on his blog Now the End Begins that Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to keep meat processing plants open during the coronavirus pandemic because the meat processors are “under pressure from global elites to shut their doors due to COVID-19 fears.”

“Now, you might ask, why on earth would people like Bill Gates want to see America’s meat processing centers shut down?” Grider wrote in his article. “Because Bill Gates has a vision of what the New World Order looks like, and in that vision, the entire world is weaned off its love for steak, chicken and pork, and learn to eat plant-based vegan fake meat instead.”

Grider wrote it is “crystal-clear what is happening.”

“And with the rise of Bill Gates and the New World Order, the coming global vaccine and digital ID, there is one man and one man only standing in the way of all that end times insanity,” Grider wrote. “The man that God, against all odds and predictions, raised up to be the president of the United States in 2016, Donald Trump.”
