Plagues of Locusts and Pestilence... Are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Riding?

What’s wrong with a few bugs when you go on a picnic? It’s okay because they won’t eat much, but what if there are more than a few bugs? What if there are billions? If you remember the seven plagues that Moses warned Pharaoh would come, then you remember the locusts, flying, swarming, breeding and eating every bit of vegetation across Egypt. After all these years, it appears that the locusts are back, and they are relentless.

You say, I haven’t seen any, so someone must be giving us faulty information. They are most likely not in your area of the world, but they are devouring crops by the acres in east Africa, many Muslim countries, the Middle East, and even China. But wait a minute. China is in the middle of the Coronavirus, so they can’t be bothered by a few bugs and they wouldn’t tell you if they had a case of “bugs” anyway.

The strangest aspect of the whole infestation is the fact that the locusts are headed in the same direction, traveling about 95 miles a day, and seem to only be affecting nations that do not accept the God of our Bible. The worst part is that they are eating enough food for 35,000 people a day. That’s a lot of burgers and fries or should I say goat and tofu! Of course, God is in control of the swarms and He hasn’t dissipated them yet.

Those who are experiencing it are reacting in two different ways: They are captivated by the magnitude, glory and strength of the Lord Almighty, or they are swerving off the road as the veil of creatures hit their cars and splatter around them. Think of stepping on a bunch of cockroaches as they crunch under your shoes and magnify it by a 1,000 percent. A nauseating thought.
Ponder this verse in 2 Chronicles 7:13 (KJV): “If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people.”

Provided you are a student of American history, what comes next is a prayer our Founding Fathers used to unite the delegates at the Constitutional Convention.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

What a sobering thought that by simply doing the above steps, God will remove the annoyance of bugs from our lives to live freely with Him.
