Jesus said in John 14:27,
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
The coronavirus has swept the world. People are dying by the thousands. People are losing their jobs and there is total upheaval on the earth. It is something America has never seen. We are looking for answers.
The Pledge of Allegiance says, “One nation under God.” Are we still a nation still under God? The Bible tells us that there was a universal flood that came upon the earth thousands of years ago. It’s recorded in Genesis 6:5-8: “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time. And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, ‘I will blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—every man and beast and crawling creature and bird of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them.’ Noah, however, found favor in the eyes of the LORD."
A Time of God’s Judgment
I believe we are in a time of God’s judgment on the earth. I believe we are in a time that we as Christians need to repent. The Lord is speaking directly to the Universal Church to repent. In 2 Chronicles 7:13-15, God said, “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers….”
God has closed His eyes and ears.
Jesus told us in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”
Here we have a clear teaching in the Bible of God’s revelation of reality. Satan is killing people of the world today because God Almighty has closed His eyes because He cannot look at the sin of His people. His eyes are closed.
The way to open His eyes of mercy is for us to confess our sins of commission and omission daily
1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Then we will live in His ark of peace and confidence. We will experience His deliverance.
Psalm 100: Our Daily Prayer
Psalm 100:15 must be our daily habit: “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
This is our reason for living. This is to define us as His children on earth. I love this little chorus which gives us full assurance of all our sins forgiven in a moment and fellowship restored:
“Oh, the blood of Jesus; Oh, the blood of Jesus; Oh, the blood of Jesus; It washes white as snow."
